IMG_2082.JPG IMG_2083.JPG IMG_2084.JPG IMG_2085.JPG Any idea wha is this bowl supposed to be used for? And what are the holes for? I have a Japanese piece with two side holes but not sure of the origin of the green one. There seems to be a signature on the bottom but could be just the glaze.

Is the last picture a different bowl from the first 3 pictures?

It is different, if not wrong, a Kyo ware. I'm just showing it because it also has two holes on the walls.

I think the holes are for chopsticks.

Bingo. The holes keep your chopsticks from rolling around or falling off the bowl. It's a pretty sweet hack.
