So I picked this up a couple of months ago and cannot find any information on my own so searching for help.

There are a couple of numbers on the bottom but no mark. Isn't it pretty? A bit dirty but surely I can clean it right?

    Can you shed some light?

No idea, I’m sorry— I would like to know myself where these beautiful nouveau women with enormous flowers come from originally, I know Dux did some, but other than that I’ve never found anything!

I don't know much about pottery but is this woman done in "paste"? (not sure what they call it)

I'm no expert, but I have cleaned bisque with mild soap and warm water. You can use a soft toothbrush carefully to get into crevices. It is definitely art nouveau style, and I think of the period (turn of the 20th c). The style of the impressed numbers makes me think of Austria (the main art nouveau area), Germany, and what was known as Bohemia at the time. A little research in those areas may result in an ID.

It is a beautiful example. I believe they originate from Germany, and are generally referred to as Jasper Ware (similar to Wedgewood in name only)

    Hi,
I clean pottery like that wonderful piece with "foaming bubble bathroom cleaner" and a very soft toothbrush. Spray it on wait a few minutes and rinse really well, the toothbrush will remove stuck on pieces of dirt.

Here's a similar Mermaid, though it looks like a different artist.

This is so detailed that I think if the modeler had meant the reptile to be a lizard the scales would have been indicated, so I vote salamander. They're more mystical.

It does have a chip on one petal I noticed but this is cleaning up very nicely!

Agreed. however, Lizards & salamanders were both decorative features during the Art Nouveau period, with some being more detailed than others.

Take care whilst cleaning! Particularly when drying it! Those flowers are brittle!
