About 7 inches tall, has a repaired chip on top rim. From my searches I think this is slip glaze, and the 1/4 means quart. Would you agree? And any thoughts as to the shield shaped decoration? Not well stamped, I can't even tell if the surround is a patterned decoration of letters.

It’s either a quarter of a lite or a quarter of a pint. Measure it and you will see. If a litre you can check European pieces .

Thanks John. Just checked. It holds about 4 1/2 cups, so pretty close to a full quart or a full liter.
