From my friend's estate--helping her husband know what to donate/what to keep. First off, is this signature Chinese? (Sorry if I have orientation of signature wrong.) Any help at all appreciated. Thank you.

Mat does Japanese, not sure if he will know.

I haven't looked yet because my impression of this is newer(and studio pottery I suspect) than Gotheborg usually has listed. I will look, though.

I guess it's Japanese, the top character is in Katakana, while the rest is in seal character Kanji. Weird pot though, whoever made it!

<edit>I think it could be a commercial container(bottle) for something, Japanese always go for the packaging, maybe some special liquor or sauce?

    Donationsville!

Thanks for the replies so far. I was thinking maybe 1970s or 80s for a date. It does look like studio pottery, but then has that mark. Just wanted to rule out any significant resale value.

    More comments welcome, of course.
