Any ideas on how I can clean the gold?

If Dawn and warm water don't work, I use my very soft silver polish, Hagerty's Silver Foam. It comes in a plastic jar. But a warning: test it first. Use a tiny amount. Sometimes it cleans and shines the item very well and others it decides to take the trim paint right off. But I've had very good luck with it in cleaning the gold on very old tea cups and porcelains plates.

I used Dawn, it came out OK, there were existing spots of loss, nothing can help that.
    Thanks for the tips!

just a note that multiple companies reproduced Adams' "XLCR" (AKA: Kings Crown) pattern and it can be difficult to discern the maker. Indiana Glass widely reproduced this compote in multiple colors.

Don, from my understanding (from the old Glass & Pottery board on eBay) the Tiffin/U.S. Glass Kings Crown goblets/stemware have 3 mold seams while Indiana Glass has 2 mold seams. Has new information come to light?

I understand some comparisons were done concerning goblets and chataboutdg has comparison photos posted. Not sure how that possibly applies to compotes; generally the number of mold/seam lines has to do with the complexity of the mold and not the maker. Looking online for known Indiana Glass Kings Crown colors it appears those have 3 mold seam lines...
