I couldn’t leave these in the U.K. Charity shop for £2 for all 4 pieces as they are so pretty. Saucers 6 inches diameter. They are odd in that the cups are slightly different in the design size in the middle of the cups and one cup is slightly bigger and heavier too. All they have is 1204 in gold with four dots (arranged like a :: on the bottom of the saucers, you can hardly see this as a lot of the gold is missing but I can see faint marks remaining. Any ideas about maker please? Thought maybe Paragon but they seem to be backstamped. The saucer recess for the cups seems larger than they need to be as the cups slide about a bit, is this usual?

Colour is puce, which may help search. The number will be a pattern, four dots a piecework decorator's mark. I think those have some serious age, as in early 19th. Might be Coalport.

    Thanks very much OBB.
I’ve had a good look online and am amazed at the huge amount of patterns and styles from Coalport, some of them are really beautiful. There is that similarity in a lot of them of that central gilded motif that my pieces have so I think your Coalport suggestion is a good one.
I’m glad I didn’t leave them in the shop.

Actually now I look, the pattern is slightly different but fairly close.

Thanks KSW, similar as you say, I think this example is newer than mine, I was staggered by the amount of Coalport patterns there are.

Patterns evolve and get amended over time.
