geez, this forum is (to me) is the best around It is full of friendly people that are willing to share their knowledge (for free) on so many different subjects. While this forum is fantastic, it isn't one stop shopping for answers. Some requests for help are left unanswered, maybe because the right person hasn't seen the request or maybe because nobody knows the answer. Thinking that a special category for 'Asian Art' is going to lure experts here and that they will answer requests for help is unrealistic. If you don't get an answer to your question here, then you should be searching elsewhere, there are so many specialized groups on-line, it just might take some time to get an answer.

& I'm not advocating for a new Forum...

 

Several Asian art specialists have come but left because we don't have a specialised sub-forum.

I think most of you know my view on the subject, or can guess it. That's all I'll say.

 

I used to host and run a number of forums a loooong time ago. Creating a new sub-section took less than 5 minutes then. I don't know why that's a controversy, and maybe it even isn't? Maybe it's just the sub sections preferred ie types instead of locations.

 

Seems the advanced level Translators (w/ some historical knowledge) are probably off making money.Damn precious thing to give away-they're probably busy.
We're fortunate folks like AJ (et all) stick around.
I did a search for the word 'Translate' on Asian Art Forum and it listed 5030 results, 'Translation' returned 8254 results.
