    Yeah, once you start messing with old furniture, it can get ugly in a hurry, no doubt! A change in drawer/door pulls or a nice refinish is fine but breaking out woodworking tools to "enhance" or "improve" the piece is usually a disaster.

    The exception is when the piece has been damaged at some point and needs major rehab anyway.
