A friend of mine is going back to Moldova next week. They've always thought they were next once Putin got through with Ukraine, and have a wet kleenex to defend themselves with.

Alas, possibly not just a movie soon. The country is about postcard-sized with a postage stamp-sized miltary.

 

All former USSR republics are first is the row of threat. It is not a matter of size but of circumstances. Russia invades the most vulnerable (as presented to Putin), Baltic states are also very small and even more suitable for invasion, but are too dangerous to deal with because of NATO membership. Moldova is indeed the next probable target but the issue is if Russia will dare to open another front. Moldova is tiny but has very strong connections to Romania ethnically and historically, and Romania is a vocal enemy of Putin, and a NATO member. I doubt that Russia will be allowed by the democratic world to swallow Moldova as they did with Crimea. Times are different now.
Putin is far from having dealt with Ukraine. He may be crazy enough though, to open another front but I doubt it. He will most probably try internal destabilisation of Moldova.

& that vile Chinese government has the balls to say that our Gov't is abusing it's power !!!

First the Russians messing with everyone's elections, now the Chinese. They'd better get their own house in order before messing with ours.

 

And now we're getting BBC stories that COVID escaped from one of their labs. Like we didn't already know, but still.
