Ow. There's no way Derby would let those out. Sloppy smudged and poor quality painting.

I realise they were your grandmother's but that doesn't mean they're that old: people get given Stuff, for a start.

I've had them for about twenty five years. My grandmother had them displayed for at least that long. I remember them in her house.
I admit they are probably copies but they are old ones. Who says the Chinese couldn't do as sloppy work fifty years ago as they do now?

After seeing the close-ups I have to agree with the other posters here--those have to be fake marks. Also, the quality of the painting is amateurish.

Certainly a curiosity as to why someone would try to fake something then that wouldn't be worth more than a few hundred dollars today if they were real.

I'm sure they have great sentimental value, though. :)

50 years ago they did lots of sloppy work.....but when talking about Chinese...50...60...80 years ....is not old.
    Now 1654.....would be old...

Not really to be honest. Kept them in a closet. Probably wouldn't display even if they were real.

I don't think they are Chinese copies. Particularly if you can account for them for 40 - 50 years. Had we started to import from China again in the 70s, early 80s? I don't think so, but I'm not sure.

Wondering if these might be Japanese, but I'm not sure they would have copied the mark. They were proud to make copies and put Japan on their items.

They almost look like hobbiest molds.

Even though they are most likely copies, I rather like them.
