    I crowed about finding 47 pieces of ruby red ME American Sweetheart in the Finds thread and still can't believe my luck! I've already sold several pieces at excellent prices.
    Anyway, I'm wondering why the sherbets don't have the impressed pattern. They DO have the proper shaping, however. I can't find any other ME American Sweetheart sherbets w/o the pattern, though red and blue are so rare that I can't find any of those color footed sherbets at all, LOL. I'm hoping one of you glass experts has some idea/guess why the red sherbets don't have the impressed pattern when the shaping is so obviously American Sweetheart? (I received a question asking if they were "flawed" since they were missing the pattern.)
    Thanks!

    $95.00 for a cup & saucer!!!!!! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

    I got to find me some of this stuff!!!! :happy::happy::happy::happy:

    According to Gene Florence "you will find sherbet dishes in ruby & cobalt that are shaped like American Sweetheart but which do not carry the moulded design. These are not considered American Sweetheart though many of this pattern's collectors will purchase them as novelty items."

    BTW congratulations on the find & for the sales!!! :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

    Just curious,for my own reference, do these have markings of any kind, or just by the pattern?
    Thank you.

    THANK YOU! I was not able to find mention of them anywhere!
    Any mention if the red sherbets also came WITH the molded pattern? Just curious.

    None of the dishes are marked in any way, no maker or pattern.

    Hi,
    Prices are going up on glassware!!!!!!!! I sold a lot of American Sweetheart mostly the pink. The blank pieces were made by the same company but were to be used as a second different name but never developed. I had many pieces of it in the clear. never saw many red and blue pieces though.

    Hi,
    I have also seen them made into ceiling light shades (much larger) but only in the pink and opalescence.

    The way I read it they were not made with the pattern in red or blue. I also checked a couple of other books & they did not list a sherbet bowl in either color in the price guide section.

    regarding ruby American Sweetheart I paid some ridiculous amount close to 1000 CDN for the 17" salver and complimentary large low bowl a few years back and just love it.
    really pretty stuff.
