    Alma.
Very short Spanish animated film that my daughter watched in school age 10 for English and came home saying how bizarre it was. I thought, how ridiculous, then went and watched it
Go on, google it and have a watch….it’s only 5 mins long.

    I enjoyed that !

Interesting little idea when the penny drops

Quite a scary concept for a child to be shown at school though I would have thought !

Just out of curiosity, are these 'Boots' all over the UK-villages,cities,etc ? The tough thing about our area's the long drives-can't hit enough sales in the first 15-30 minutes of the opening.

That's often the problem here too. The sales are scattered and by the time you get from point A to point B all the good stuff already went into someone else's trunk. It's one reason us jewelry people go early. You have to, to get anything unless you blind-luck into something that never went out or got overlooked in a corner.

That's how I got some silver at the last stop on Saturday - there were six .800 silver coaster/ashtray/whatsits in a bag with some silverplate punch cups. The sale didn't advertise and the people who got there before me saw the plated cups and didn't realize there was $65 in silver in the bag.

Boots are all over my ends, including some quite central parts of London, like Battersea. I don’t do the central ones, they’re too yummy mummy overpriced manbuns carrying poncy coffee. One advertises sourdough sandwiches, ffs.

I do one on Saturdays, could do two but the first one has gone all sparrow fart. Sunday, I do two, could do more, but I have to have me chips at the second one. I’m a bit spoiled for choice, there must be ten within a half hour drive. There’s some midweek ones too.

Went to a cluster of houses having a sale on the same day on Saturday. Got skunked. I should honesly have known. Too many yummy mummies living there. OTOH the one where I made out like a bandit on Friday was someone with more money than sense. Someone else got there ahead of me and got the gold for pennies, but I got the silver. Handed my sister the Kate Spade (totally clean, looked barely used) wallet, which was essentially FREE.

It’s the Kentish Town car boot on Facebook. You have never seen such a pretentious load of cobblers in your life. I bet all the children are called Tristram and Imogen or summat, and it’s a haven of Farrow and Ball.

No Farrow and Ball here, but I'd bet Restoration Hardware would be close enough.

Don't know what the teacher was thinking

Seems very innocent at the start
But it takes a very sinister twist

I can image would envoke nightmares to innocent minds

Have you seen this Catherine Tate skit? I’m not a fan usually but this is spot on.

You've got many opportunities with these car boot sales. And also many competitors, I guess. Many more than in my neck of the woods - to be honest, I picked this expression from you here, guys, one of the many benefits of handing out here. :joyful::kiss:

The problem in here is that you'll learn both American slang and British, and some people in the real world don't understand both.

True! But still in my view, it is better to learn both than to learn nothing
