Raku Pottery Vase Ovoid Japanese? Signature? Pic heavy.

    Think this is Raku? It is rough-feeling in areas (especially the black band at the base), very small crazing marks here and there, and divots. Tried to capture in pics and also not sure of the signature orientation. Have not been able to find on marks or signature sites. Just a studio potter? Would like some confirmation if possible that this leans towards being Raku and Japanese. About 8" tall.     It kinda does look like raku. I'm wondering if it was a plain glazed vase that was then raku fired. Cool piece.
