Featured Raku vase: Japanese?

    This vase is just over 8" / 21cm tall. The bottom has a kanji character and (maybe) a name. Could it be Cyrillic?

    Thanks for any help. Found in a thrift store in Portland Oregon US.

    Still can't decipher that word / name.

    Do you think it might be something like Nippon (Japan)?

    Thanks Johnny. In the shop where I found it, between mass-produced coffee mugs, IKEA vases, imitation Wedgwood and the like, this one had real presence. Made with intentionality, in my opinion. I like it.
