Picked this up on Saturday and finally had the nerve to wade through the snow tonight (Tuesday) to get it out of the car. Car is parked a block and a half from my place BTW.

Couldn't remember exactly what the carpet looked like and just HAD to take another look at it, so boots, puffer jacket, toque and gloves donned, out I went.

Got back, unwrapped it and took a photo. I'm trying to identify it, I'm thinking Khamseh at the moment but I just started looking ...any ideas folks?

It's pretty dense at about 270-300 knots per sq in, and rough size is about 5 x 7 ft, (I forgot to measure it before wrapping it back up:bigtears:)

    Anyway here's the rug

Definitely worth wading in the snow! Such vital colors and strong patterning.

So the question is now ...do I sell one of the others or keep on "laminating" them (putting this one on top of the others) ..I think there are three or four layers here and there already :banghead::wideyed:

Depends if the pile has reached the point where you need climbing tackle and oxygen to get over them......

I think you should share them with others who appreciate their beauty like you do. So only three thickness tall!

I bought a pair of modernist rya rugs from the Swedish pavilion exhibit at Expo67 (bought them in 1994) ...they are at the bottom of the stack ..and haven't seen them in 25 years ...do I have a problem?:jawdrop:

    That's called preservation.
    Alternatively they may form coal.

After much searching, I finally identified my rug.

    It's a Kurdish Senneh Bijar :)
