Redware jug..or lamp, or what?

    Is this just a jug, or perhaps a lamp? The spout/opening is interesting, or at least a bit different - it kind of tapers down a bit on the inside, took a pic with flash so you can see. Also, any ideas on where this might be from? As per my usual picking, found in one of my regular big thrift stores. Thanks for looking!

    8" tall, about 5.5" in diameter at the widest point. Base about 3.5" across.

    Guessing Southern Italy, maybe Sicilia or Sardinia even ..vino or aceto jar
