Hi all I’m new here so hopefully I will have posted this ok. I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this decanter I have. I believe it might be Regency circa 1810. It’s 25cm tall to top of stopper and 11cm wide. It has a cut glass bottom.

Gosh, it immediately made me think of a fresnel lens!
What is saying Regency to you? (I really have no idea and am trying to learn here.)

It's a ring neck decanter, which is usually typically Georgian. That squat shape and the stopper too. Could you get a photo of the base, please and also top down without the stopper in? Does the glass look very clear or is it slightly greyish?

Difficult to tell with the background, but it looks like it could be greyish:

It does, doesn't it. That's a good sign of older.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I’m trying to upload those extra photos of the bottom and top down, but I keep being told that the file is too big and I can’t work out how to get them on here, if anyone can tell me how that would be great.

I'd think that a good thought. Much of this well cut Georgian stuff was Irish cut.
