I bought this one right before everything was locked down so probably no more for some time ........

There was a length of Pewter String missing so I replaced that....
The water marked silk is remnants from an antique skirt, probably Victorian but maybe earlier and the closest I had to the original, I had the paint mixed from the inside of the needle book and it's 99.01% accurate.
I replaced the missing veneer, not a great match but I'll try to find a better piece when all this is over.
I'll have withdrawal symptoms now :(

It was a lot of trial and error over a lot of years, I still make the odd mistake when it's something I haven't done before....

    Nice Job!!
The last one of these I did I was lucky to find some old Chinese tissue paper of pretty much the same pinkish red tone as the original so patched/recovered the interior where it needed it in paper.

Had the box for ages, then an old shop in Chinatown closed down and my friend bought all their (old) wrapping paper for her store and I asked her for a sheet or two, thinking colour was close ...and it was perfect, texture and colour. VERY LUCKY INDEED!!

Impressive work! Was that crinkly pink textile what they used to call crape?.. as in black mourning crape? The texture looks similar, but I have never seen it in any other color.
