Royal Doulton vase question

    Hi, I need information on this Royal Doulton vase that's signed on the bottom with the name of L. Coltart 1916. Embedded number is 1032A. I'm having a hard time finding this mark without the lion and crown.

    It's possible, but not guaranteed, that the name and date were added by an amateur decorator and not a Royal Doulton employee.

    I agree. Doulton Burslem artists don't typically sign like that. This looks like a variant of the 1910s/20s mark. It's Burslem rather than Lambeth with that body and clay.
