Originally gold-plated probably. Bare brass was a 90s thing.

Do buyers usually reset them evey, or keep them in original setting ?

A sapphiret junkie would leave it alone. If the setting was broken we might reset them in something else, but age-related wear and tear belong there.

if u have the tools...and talent, I might consider removing the housing for the missing stone...

Luckily it's the last stone on the string, so wouldn't affect wearability

Not like it's a middle stone that would

I would leave it alone IMHO.

The person who buys it may have a stone to put in its place or if not they can remove that piece themselves.

Yup.....but also..the person buying it would likely offer Charlie less complaining of the missing stone....but it the housing was removed...no one but us would know the difference !!;):p

I've seen this design before and the metal always looks pretty much like yours does. It may be that yours has dulled a bit, but I don't think it is missing plating. Here are two found in a quick search:

Agree. That last link has a different shape and if I'm looking at the photo correctly it looks like the extender chain is soldered on to the back of the link with the missing stone. So you sort of need that link for the bracelet to function. I'd leave any repair to the buyer. This is such a common style (I've seen at least three of this exact pattern w/saphirets in discussion groups over the years) it could raise red flags and result in a SNAD return if not disclosed if a link was missing. I'd leave it to the buyer.

Maybe lucky that stone was gone --- guessing that's why it was up for sale!

    if it's a middle stone...who would know?
    the 2 u show...and Charlies....all have a different number of stones.
Can u tell by looking if any one has had a link removed??

yes....u can't pull off either the end links....but....if the prongs are in good shape...u could pull off a middle link and use the stone on the end !!!

    imo..
