Seated Apes Or Monkeys

    C2797991-8649-4E80-A12F-82DD52FD2FC4.png 98800794-45F2-4C94-AE45-80914E3C5612.png These two 18cm tall pottery apes are coming up for auction locally. No marks on base but holes in backs and tops of heads.

    I am sure I’ve seen similar in one of my books but I can’t find them at all. Auctioneer simply describes them as “unusual”

    sorry no pic of base but bases are glazed.

    Anybody recognise them?
