I'm having trouble narrowing down info about this chair. My mother purchased it more than 45 years ago from a neighbor who said it belonged to her mother. Any thoughts on type or year that could help me determine a value would be appreciated. (Trying to help my parents downsize and their memories are fading.)

Very attractive oak, late Victorian ca. 1900-1910. A sweet piece, but sadly only worth about $50-$75 in my part of the U.S. midwest.

    Hello -
If you go back to your post, click Edit and Full Image, people on phones will be able to see your photo.

Do agree that it is a turn of the century American Oak rocker.
Not in vogue at the moment for two reasons. Brown furniture and young mothers are not buying rocking chairs.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Oh, I like this! From what I've learned here, I assume the value in today's market is modest. Maybe it depends on where you live, too.

It appears to be in very good condition.

Sadly, not a lot of value these days despite the nice condition.

Definitely in beautiful shape. Agreed that they don't bring much these days.

Too bad young mothers don't know what they're missing, IMHO!!!! THAT rocker looks SO COMFORTABLE!!!!!

It's an antique.....I'd offer it at $300...and cut 25% off to the first interested party !!
