    Bluumz, those smocked dresses are adorable! Beautiful work!

    My grandmother hand-smocked more than her share of dresses for my sisters and me.

    I never got into smocking myself, so my daughter had to settle for store-bought Polly Flinders!

    My oldest daughter (now 30yo) wore a lot of Polly Flinders. When my second daughter was born many years later, I had more time on my hands and became smocking-obsessed. :)
    I hope no one minds if I show off a few more:

    AllFakes, you are so multi-talented! Your turned wooden vase is lovely and I like how you left the bark on from the pear tree!

    Thanks! That diary blog was quite a project last year. I thought of re-publishing day-by-day again this year but just didn't have the time. I've let the website stand and it still gets occasional traffic. :)

    Pedro.....NICE job on the scrimshaw....which I LOVE!!! I have 2 teeth (I did NOT do them....antique) which I "tucked" away.....must've tucked 'em real good, 'cuz now I can't FIND them :( ... someday they'll turn up!!!
