New here and have just inherited a sideboard/buffet. Not sure what to call it!
I’m wondering if I should try to repair it (strip and re-stain) or if it is better to leave it as is? Thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the board.
Could you please go back to your post, click Edit, More Options, and next to the picture, click Full Image.

People on phones can't see the tiny one.

    Much better picture. Thank you.

    Looks 1930ish.
If you don't have experience, I would not strip this and try to refinish it.

It looks like it is in pretty decent condition.
Howard's Restor-A-Finish will help cover scratches and they have a polishing compound. Simple to use and does a decent job.

People come and go at all hours so be sure to check back.

    Thanks for the advice.
Had a closer look and found this stamp under one of the draws. I’m assuming this is whoever made it?! Has anyone seen this one before? 853F2A91-201D-40C0-8FE1-95AB58F7D07A.jpeg

I didn't notice this area last night. Is it glare, or is this why you want to strip it?
    Is the veneer still there?

Can't tell you much other than that I don't believe this to be American. A 30s date would seem about right but think similar were made on in to the 50s. I don't see that it needs much more than some touch up based on this photo.

It’s more the scratches on the front and top that made me think stripping it would be a good idea, possibly. I believe it is glare in the photo.
If it is as old as you think I think I would rather leave it be for now.
    Thanks for the advice.
