I have had this sideboard in storage for decades. It was given to me by a family member who had no details on it other than someone he knew had it in their storage for decades and gave it to him. All of the door and drawer lock mechanisms work and I have the original keys. There are no specific brand or manufacturer names that I have been able to find on the piece but a couple photos show internal marks which apparently are important clues to identifying the period and authenticity of the piece. I have done some research but wanted to get some outside input for comparison. I won't post what I've come up with at this time. I will be selling this piece in the near future so I'm trying to learn more about it in preparation. Any input would be appreciated.

Are there any manufacturers names on the locking mechanisms ?
Its a pedestal sideboard but you already know that.

I don't believe so but I will look again. I didn't think to study them closely.

My research findings suggest they are framer's or cabinetmaker's marks, typically written at the factory or workshop during assembly. They are in approaching a dozen locations throughout the piece.

That's funny. I read "12 nieces" but "12 pieces" more likely.

I agree, Debora, it looks like nieces! But i'm sure they meant pieces.

Edwardian or just slightly later. Getting a Continental vibe from this but suppose it could be American. Mahogany but refinished to minimize the natural red tone of the wood. Looks like the pulls have been replaced. Note how the top drawer on each side originally had 2 pulls. Small pulls on second drawers have been added.
