Signed figures with multiple faces. Inuit?

    Oh, I'm definitely not saying a mix of materials. I'm saying cast resin with carved details.

    But to be honest, I'm not convinced one way or another what this material is/isn't.

    I think we're saying the same thing, maybe just quibbling over the word 'carved'. They would not have been made by a craftsman whittling away at a solid block of resin (& I have no doubt they are resin). The resin was shaped in a mold. When hardened, someone may have taken a graver & 'enhanced' some grooves, etc., so it has some tool marks & gives impression of hand carved.

    Well, the coloring has to be hand applied & the signatures might be gouged in. I couldn't spot any other clear evidence of hand work. Any deep undercutting, any feature that would snag the piece in the mold, would need to be done by hand. Today's flexible molds are making it harder to tell apart carved from molded.
