Featured Silk Rug PRAYER RUG? Die this mean anything in Arabic?

    Have this rug, silk, that measures 32”x55”. I’m guessing that the image here may be meaningful. Can anyone tell me what it means? I am thinking that this is a prayer rug. (I could be entirely wrong too). TIA!

    The lamp & columns certainly suggest a temple, an appropriate motif for a prayer rug. If the rug is Persian, language could be Farsi, which is written using Arabic characters.

    It does look like writing, but the 2 sides are mirror images:

    A 'chiaroscuro' rug?;)

    A Turkish prayer rug, with an Islamic/Koranic text in Arabic. Turkish used to be written using Arabic script, but on prayer rugs the text is Islamic Arabic.
    Decorative calligraphy. It has a religious meaning, but has been turned into a mirrored decoration. Calligraphy is one of the most esteemed art forms in Islamic countries.
