Featured Silver box set with amethyst - unknown mark

    Found a list of Italian town marks used with the fascio/fasces mark, no FV unfortunately, final year of the mark was 1944.

    The way your FV is situated within the mark is not the way town letters were placed.
    Although the style of your box is Italian, the fasces mark may not be an official hallmark.

    If the OP read my first post, suppose the above was badly phrased, the Italian origin I was guessing at was for the box, which would make the 'FV' mark Italian as well, but as AJ states, it is definitely not an official mark - not the proper form, and the 'Fascist' mark was only in use from 1934-44. As already said, the presense of a fasces does not necessarily indicate Italian origin, the mark could be from elsewhere, and would also suspect your item is a bit earlier than the institution of the 'Fascist' mark.
