Didn't see much for potential marks on the right end, but looks like there might be a letter on the left end in the middle.....as posted....

You are on the right track it is not any different style. IT looks like it is from some general region.

I think I spot something else as well. I cropped and tweaked your tweaked photo, and there could be two letters at the top, as well as an old style partial town mark at the bottom:



Below is an old style town mark of Meknes, Morocco:



Similar marks were used in other North African towns, and in some towns they were still used in the late 20th century. (Maybe later as well)

 

Ahhh, cool! I think I’ll polish the back to get some of the tarnish off. Maybe it’ll come in better that way...
