I acquired this nice little bracelet, it has no makers mark on it but it says this"guaranteed real silver"
It weighs 35grams and is 2 1/2" long by 1 1/2" tall and 2" wide

It looks hand fabricated and engraved, can't see what made the dark areas in the squares though.

Aesthetic Period on the round panel with the bird and the band with leaves, just wondering about the squares :bored:

Have it tested and give it a light polish!

Make that 3 for gorgeous and 2 for Aesthetic Period design.

I suspect that the garter with Warranted Real Silver IS the maker's mark. And since there are no English assay marks and the word "sterling" does not appear on it anywhere, I think we should be look to the East - China, Japan or India, perhaps?

Also what's the best way to polish silver without ruining it? By hand or with an actual polisher/buffer

By hand with a sunshine cloth. Particularly in this case, because you don't want to lose the darkening of the alternate squares - that was intentional.

Absolutely Aesthetic period, and absolutely gorgeous.
    (I want:greedy:)
Looks like silver to me, but best to have it tested to be sure. Most of these were made in England (Birmingham), but I agree, no English marks.
Doesn't look Asian made to me either. Continental Europe? North America? Australia?

I find the mark to be reminiscent of some American silver Civil War era pocket watch case marks and suspect American.

To me... the first sight of the birds give me a feeling it is a Chinese export... I don't know why...
Is there any english speakling guys will say "real silver"??

I think it is because the Aesthetic movement was greatly influenced by Chinese and Japanese art. You are bound to recognize something.
Flights of little birds, and random insects, are also a very Japanese theme.
