    Any ideas of origin please?
I’ve had a few similar style but flatter filigree brooches through but this one is a whopper!.
    The berries look nicely made.
Are these still being made or is it datable?
Tests as silver but maybe low fineness as no marks on it. Thanks for looking :)

Pretty brooch, K, and nice quality too.
Unfortunately filigree is often the most difficult technique to pinpoint a region for.:(
I could say Mediterranean, which doesn't help much because every country on the Med makes filigree. I blame the Byzantians.

Thanks AJ, That’s fine as it means I can’t be too far wrong! I’m trying to list a mountain of stuff that doesn’t do it for me so I can buy more that does :vamp::angelic:

Filigree is coated with solder ranging 570-700 silver.

Portugal is a good possibility, but filigree work was done all the way across to China.

Yup, but those floral ones are often theirs. I've had some marked, too, purity 800 or 900.

I see something written on the stem I believe! I have button covers that look very similar. Italy.pic #7
