Hi all. Its been a little while since i posted any finds (thank you Trump,I paid more taxes than my mother who has FAR more assets ???) But I digress . I found these in a thrift, all 3 pieces were $4,and they were covered with a green gunk so I think most folks thought it was plate. However,I started to clean them and the smell of mint was overwhelming! The bowl is 3 1/2 inches wide,2 high, the plate is 4 3/4 wide. The only mark on the spoon is a 2 ? Any input is always appreciated.

Does the second item say sterling on the handle? It's hard to make out what the ends look like but it looks like fox and grapes decoration.

I suspect for cake or vegetables or something like that. Usually, flat-ended tongs were for serving slices of cake (so you don't pierce the cake and it falls apart as you pick it up).

The tines are bent at a right angle like claws. They are meant to grab something.
I would think pastry would have at least one flat side to slide under. BWDIK

They wouldn't slide under the pastry, roll, etc., they'd be used in the same position as shown on post #10, close gently, pick up and transfer to plate...
