    Hi everyone,
This is an approximately 5" tall shaker with hallmarks on the base. One looks like a key but all the marks are not super clear. I'm wondering the origin of the mark and the use of the shaker. Is it for sugar or salt? How do you tell? Thanks so much! sh1.jpg sh2.jpg sh3.jpg sh4.jpg sh5.jpg sh6.jpg

Old Sheffield plate, a real beauty. Could be a sander?

Cheryl, I think you are spot on! I checked out the marks and that's what it looks like to me as well. Thank you!

Aaah - they made reproductions of Old Sheffield ...that's what led me astray!
