    Hi,
I wounder if anyone can recognise the mark/ hallmark for this ring.
It’s sterling silver, I was after an antique poison ring, but something tells me that this one it’s not that old.
Where do you think it was made?
Do you think the stone is onix? Or something else?
@Any Jewelry , I think you are going to enjoy this.
@silvermakersmarks I wonder if this mark is familiar.
    @KSW
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,

Id say newer as well. The old ones dont usually have the hinges showing like that.

I had one like this, it sold really well. I found an Indonesian one just a minute ago that was similar and had that hinge but for some reason Google has gone on strike and I can’t scroll down.

I doubt the old ones would be stamped like that either...

Peruvian maybe? The marks are Spanish but not Mexican and Peru is the obvious candidate.

It’s possible Plata, the clear letters are only ATA, and I can also see 915.
Any idea about the first name, would this be something you recognise?

Thank you so much, I found this on another item description “marked Plata 916 with the makers name K Thamar. It is probably of Spanish origin where 916 silver was produced prior to 1934. Estimated date is c1910.”

I googled this makers mark K Thamar, can’t find much on it, Plata is for silver in Spanish, could be from any Spanish speaking country.
If the ring was produced prior 1934, I am definitely delighted, it’s older than I thought.
    Thank you so much.

    Thank you.
I finally had a chance to look through my books and found the below information.
Just wanted to update so it remains as a point of reference here.

Great sleuthing! Is anyone else annoyed that the 1st Dibs ring posted by Simona was labeled 1960's when the numbering system used on it did not come into use until about 1979 (with some makers postponing switching to it until the 1980s)? Shame on folks on that prestige site getting it wrong!

As an aside, I was wondering why Simona thought I would enjoy it. Just now it suddenly dawned on me that it could be because of the cannetille.

I do love handmade cannetille because of the delicate look, and for some reason the repetition of the cannetilles is pleasing.
However, this ring features cast cannetille, which doesn't have the fragile wires and delicate look. It is a nice chunky piece, but not something I would buy.
