Silver USNA buckle or insignia?

Could someone tell me what this thing was used for?
Looks like a buckle but kind of small size to be it.
Was this standard issue or custom made?
Size is 30mm by 25mm.

 

Lenny, it appears to be a belt buckle from the US Naval Academy. Here's a pin with the same emblem on it:

not so much a buckle as a slider..

 

Even though the letters USNA are on these devices, the symbology doesn’t relate to the Academy. Yes I guess it could be something to do with the class of 1907, but I’ve never seen anything like it related to the Academy. So I simply have no idea what these are.

I thought Bailey Banks Biddle too when I first saw this post, but find it very odd that it only says "silver" and not sterling.

 

It is small for a buckle; maybe a decorative slider for something else....like for a hat-band, where a small buckle-like item might be used. or something similar.

Wondering about 1907....the USNA football team had a great, or at least good, year in 1907....
