The sides and panels look like hand carving. Is that correct? My guess was 1890 to 1910 because the center panels have an Art Nouveau influence. What do you think? Are those eagle heads?

It stands 28" tall, 25" wide and 15" deep. There are two holes on the very top so there must have been another carved pediment piece or mirror. There are three pegs on the bottom. Unfortunately, they didn't realize the base went with the top so there is no more base cabinet. I wonder what it was used for since it isn't very wide. Thank you.

It's lovely, and the panels do look like an Art Nouveau design to me.

I'd say Gryphon or Phoenix instead of Eagle

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I agree, Mr. Fun. There are crested eagles, but people might not think they LOOK like eagles. The Gryphon and Phoenix do have more of that sort of head and neck. I think this thing is great! Belongs in a haunted mansion, WHATEVER it was. Annnnnd... whatever it was, for use now it would be a great re-purpose to display one's collection of ... crystal skulls, maybe!

I think you are about right on the time frame. Could be as early as 1880. I think it is probably the top to a server even though a bit narrow. I get a Germanic vibe from it.

Here is a larger one described as Black Forest.

Oh, wow! That really has the look, Mr. Furniture!

So... re-purpose... in one's haunted mansion... for one's Valkyrie figurine collection...

    Thanks everyone.

Brad, great photograph! I love that I can see what the pediment may have looked like.

I forgot to ask if this was Mahogany?
