    Hello again,

Can anyone make head or tail of the mark on this pendant? The square cut stone is not a diamond, at least not to the tester I used. The mounting tested positive to 18k. It's an emerald cut rectangle. Can't tell anything about stone type from photo.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the facets are twisted off center and the corners appear to be different sizes. What is the black on the second photo top right prong? The casting quality on the setting is poor with lack of cleanup, the piece may have come from India from a shop with low quality control.

Need a good wash! Plus it is better for testing (once dry...).

Do I see a faint pink hue in the stone?:cyclops:
Could be pale Morganite, beryls family:bucktooth:

    Lovely little pendant BM.
Can't read the mark, despite your good efforts. But it doesn't look like an Indian mark to me.
That could be from her fingers, since the stone will show the colours of anything that is near it. BMRT, could you photograph it on a white piece of paper? Best to clean it first, like kyra said.

Could you clean the mark with a small brush before rephotographing?

Given the quality of the cut, another good guess is rock crystal, aka clear quartz.

I’ll try digging this up, cleaning, pictures and reposting tomorrow. The movers may have accidentally hauled this off already. :jawdrop:
