    I'd like to see more pics also, Laura. Pics of the bottom, looking down inside, and the opposite side would be big helps. Also like to know if the inside has any particular smell and if the inside of that side cylinder has any ash/soot residue. The earliest Dutch "snotneus" lamps were whale oil lamps with the the side cylnder thingy dripping oil hence the name "snotneus," runny nose. If this is that type of a lamp, it is of a later date.

    That concave saucer at the top of the base might be for catching oil while filling the lamp, if it is a lamp?
