Spear head??? And if so, is this something old or Made in China?

This was a freebie, so gift horses' teeth weren't checked. The patina is all-over, making it look either old or buried in some Chinese farmer's field for a while. It's about six inches long, give or take a smidge. There was a wooden stand for it too, but that's 1980s from the wood and finish.

None whatever. I checked the length too instead of just trusting my "memory". It's 7 instead of 6 inches, not that it probably matters much.

It's more like Chinese/Japanese arrowheads.

 

I liked the shape; it's downright elegant.

Spring posted the Variety article to the free images at the Met ... and this was in there. http://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/325223 Mine may well be a good copy of a Persian arrowhead.

Better yet, it was a freebie, so my investment is mostly research time. Gotta love it when that happens.
