Hello all, my second post, still don’t know how to post full pictures sorry, here’s another little nik knack that someone may be able to shed some information on. I think it could be for some sewing or knitting use, but could be way off the mark. Appreciate any info, ty.

Dimensions? Do I interpret the photos correctly that this has several parts, which can be nested to be more compact or assembled so that knob is on the top? It does look like it could be needlework related. In UK think they would apply the word "treen".

Ty for your reply Bronwen, I’m fairly sure you’re right with the word treen, looks like the thread spools in the middle and when you need to use, the little acorn cap comes off. The internal middle rotates and also can lift up around 20mm from the main base.its total height is 85mm to top of lid and 70mm at its widest ( the lid). I’ve also downloaded a couple of extra photos. IMG_5828.jpeg IMG_5827.jpeg
