I've been going through some old stamps that my dad had. I thought I'd look at the Stampexchange website as it's a sister site to here. I ran into a block when I clicked on the link at the top of the page here saying it wasn't a secure site. I found this link that Davey provided but it doesn't seem to actually go to a secure version of the site and only offers http instead of https. So, is there a way to get to a secure version? https://www.antiquers.com/threads/stamps-albums-and-collections-any-advice.74300/#post-4606708 Here it the link Davey gave back in 2022 https://www.stampexchange.com/ here is what it looked like in his post
Their security certificate expired. Site owner needs to renew it. If you are going to sign up as it is, just use a password unique to that site (should be doing that anyway, really).
I can't be certain but I don't think that site is still active. I just did a quick look at the members and two of the mods have not posted since 2021 although one of the last posts on the site was January this year
The top nine posters in the members list have not posted for years, even Peter the owner was last seen in 2020
I know nothing about stamps so I've got a lot to learn. There is a local guy that has kindly offered to give them a look when I can bring them to him. In the meantime I've just sorted them by country. Many of them seem to be 70+ years old, used and from many, many countries (did I mention many). I'm amazed at how ignorant I am when it comes to some world history that I don't know (or maybe just don't remember) that is tied to stamps . Also, I'm equally amazed at how I don't know where some places are/were in the world.
When I visited that site some time ago, it only had spam messages (if I'm not mistaken, all in Russian and/or Chinese)
