Featured Steiff Bear Rug Help

Any advice as to how old this would be? Guess this was done before PETA. How would I be able to put a price on it as I guess it's rare.

 

Since it isn't made from real bear skin, why would PETA care?

? representing a bear rug? A bear rug is a kilt bear, be it real bear rug or a kid's toy. Do it right now and they'd be up in arms. Regardless, I'm asking for help on the Steiff bear and what I put is just a thought.

 

Is he missing his ear tag (button)? The hang tag says he should have one (knopf im ohr).

 

Nah, thats the name of the company, weird name.

 

Knopf im ohr translates to button in ear.

 

Mario.......Steiff animals did come with little metal buttons in their ears. The fur on your rug is very dense, so I would suggest that you carefully examine each ear with your fingers to see if one is there.

It looks to be made of the mohair fur of the Zotty bear.

I think your tag suggests 1971.

Steiff is still in operation, and I would contact them for more information.

I thumbed through my Steiff book, but do not see any rugs whatsoever.

This neat bear is in great condition and would love to lie around in your home!" Tag is somewhat different, as it has the name Molly Petsy on it. Maybe the Molly Petsy is a later version of the one you have?

I have a toy stuffed deer head on a wooden plaque that used to hang in my son's bedroom when he stayed with my parents.
