As near as I can tell, this is a Buddhist mantra bracelet. The 6 symbols in a circle on the clasp, repeat on each link. Is the center symbol a tughra? What is the meaning of the symbols? Origin?

.... So, AI says the mantra is for compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum. The cross symbol on the clasp is a Vajra or Dorje which is a Buddhist symbol representing spiritual strength, protection, and indestructibility.

Very cool-is this some type of a Buddhist 'rosary', or perhaps something worn by pilgrims ?
    Guesstimate on age ?

Think pretty new, though bought on the secondary market. Saw some brand new ones being offered. Sellers are not good in their descriptions. Hence the questions.

In the 70s I knew people in New York, many connected or hoping to be connected with theater, who had a butsudan on their wall & chanted this mantra in the hope their lives would come together. It was the age of the Hare Krishnas, est, Dianetics & I don't know what all.
