    Hello all

I bought this fantastic modernist jewellery set, and I need help with the maker. My searches for me nowhere.

Full UK hallmarks for London 1978, maker MET.

The box is custom made and all of excellent quality, so I hope it is a known designer. Even has silver hinges and clasp on the box.

Total weight for the bracelet and two rings is 103.5 grams.

It's no one I can think of off hand. Lovely set. Those look like vertebrae.

That is amazing!. I agree with OBB it looks like vertebrae.
It reminds me of some pieces made by museums but that is a serious gift shop item!!
    Could be a one off?

It really does look like vertebrae doesn't it. I have sent an email to the London assay office asking for help-they have a sponsor tracing service for post 1975 items.

It will take a couple of weeks but maybe I'll get an answer.

Funny that jewelry designer of such quality has disappeared without trace.

The box is a odd though. The wood and shaping of the recess looks a little err…rustic….but those hinges are classy!. Slightly looks like someone made a box just for this item?

Very interesting! And that box, wow!
Sorry, this healthcare professional is going to dissent from the vertebral comparison. :doctor: :)

Artistic licence. Bit like china painters not being botanists. ;)

Usually when I hear MET I'm thinking pewter, but not in this case. Not with a full set of London marks it isn't. Is there a museum over there that has Metropolitan in the name? The Metropolitan Museum of Art here in the USA uses MMA on their pieces.

    MET is the hallmark sponsor.

So I have my answer from the London Assay Office. Maker is Michael Eric Tickle, a fantastic name but sadly I can't find a single reference online.

"We can only identify a maker by their sponsors/makers initials – thank you for including a clear image of this!

This maker is called Michael Eric Tickle. They are out of registration and I have no further information."
