Him with a small boy is "The Kid".
A flower, which is why I thought it was City Lights. He buys a flower from a blind girl, and falls in love with her.

    Very sweet. (For now.:playful:)
So I noticed. Fascinating plants. Do you feed it bits of boiled egg, or do you find insects for it?
    :joyful:

The venus flytrap will do that for you. You just have to look the other way while it does.;)

i gave him a really nice little ammonite fossil (loves things like that), and his mum said he wouldn't let anyway even look at it, just held onto it all day. the only time they got to see it was when it fell out of his hand when he was asleep :shame:

That or similar. I think this might be earlier. Maybe the original Little Tramp movie?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I was going to do an image search on this for you, to try to identify the film. When I downloaded the image I found that the title of the film is in the subject line of the image. Says it's from Chaplin's film "Modern Times."

I'll still do an image search to see if I can verify that.

Although so far, I'm seeing websites that say it is from "City Lights."

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Now that I've investigated, I think that it is from "City Lights." I was trying to find a more authoritative site, and just did. This is from a German film festival article.

I think whoever wrote the title of the image that @charlie cheswick has, was confused. Chaplin's Little Tramp character used that same cane in several pictures. So you got it, @Any Jewelry -- The flower is a great clue.

By the way, "City Lights" is a silent film, as many of his were. He was amazing.

He was a Vaudeville actor/comic first and then did films; he was the family breadwinner from the age of five or so, and rough doesn't cover it early on. He also wrote at least one song, because Michael Jackson covered it later. It's called "Smile" and it's a classic.
