like everyone else, I think the hp'd teapot looks like porcelain, but it could be milk glass, but then it wouldn't be very useful.

 

Congrats Marko- I'm an absolute sucker for elaborate Victorian quadrupleplate.
Doesn't mean I ignore sterling-show me that in 925 silver for $40 and i'd take it.

 

By the time you got around to seeing it at that price, it would have been sold an' resold at least twice...the last time for melt!

Ab-so-lutely amigo ! I remember in the old days wandering thru the thrifts looking for vintage fountain pens, we'd scrap the gold pen knibs. The pen bodies were cool but not our main interest

 

Yup...Guilty of similar folly, I am.

Bill Powell's junk store on Wilson St-he had a pencil thin mustache,wore a greasy fedora and had a deep graveled tobacco voice-'them ole cigarettes machines is 25 to fifty bucks apiece, them's is dime to quarter machines !'
A lot of the second hand stores back then were in old garages-huge roll up doors, concrete floors and that smell of old lube grease.

 

..and they were gone by the time I was old enough and interested enough to be hunting in them.

 

I saw all that eye candy back when I was a kid,knew it was cool & would prob be Mondo hot$ someday-but we were kids making $2-$4 an hr (S***!). 'Twas ever thus !'.
