Teapot

Hi all,


I've had this teapot for a little bit. It has no markings and probably is modern China made but curious if anyone can help me identify it. Thanks for looking.

 

You might try looking at brown betty teapots. You might post a photo of the bottom, even if not marked. If someone is familiar with this type every little clue can help and bottoms can sometimes be very helpful.

 

Agree with SIS. Please show us the bottom with the color of clay.
It looks newer than typical "made in Japan" red clay ware glazed brown and handpainted, not sure without seeing the bottom.

It may be a little old Japan teapot from the 1960s era.
Need to see the bottom.

 

Yes, looks like Japan red ware clay, the size is right, and even the glaze from that tipped angle is right for it. Semi-lusterous brown. Thanks. The paper label would have probably been blue and white, it's from the 1950s and 60s, perhaps on into the early 1970s.
