    Hello friends!

    I hope someone can help put me out of my misery.

    I got this in a metal detecting lot.
    ( Had quite a few lovely things arrive via the posty lately but am lost on most ( all) of 'em) . )

    I don't even know where to start with this. I don't know if this a coin or a medal, or a token or anything. Or where it originally came from. The lot I bought it in said *UK finds* but could be potentially anywhere.
    It's one of the cutest little things I have been lucky enough to find. SO TACTILE. It's divine.
    Very small ... just over half an inch ( just under two cms). Feels and smells like silver.
    One side is I think clasped hands with letter-y type things above ( I and E?) and the other side is what I can only interpret as a king as he has a crown,with a sort of cross type thing by his nose.

    Hi Bou!:happy:
    I agree. Looks like part of his crown has fallen off and landed on his nose?:confused::nurse:

    @daveydempsey may recognise it.

    Looks like a coin from the European continent produced in the late middle ages. I am no expert since there we so many small nations producing coinage during that time that it will make your head spin; The folks at CoinTalk could likely identify it for you if you posted it there.

    I swear I saw something like that several years ago - might have been on the old Ebay boards. That curly hair and crown look vaguely familiar. The stamp in front of his face looks like a shield to me that is only partly showing.

    So CT, identified it as an undetermined replica medieval coin. After a bit of searching, I found this one, which could be the inspiration for the reverse, not so sure the front is a close match. 7162BF9A-4C5F-4F29-A321-A9D8633B29E2.jpeg

    Look at the face of your coin with a loupe,in the photos there appears to be casting bubbles in the low spots.Most coins have been die struck and they have no bubbles.

    I forgot to suggest, you could still test it for silver.
