    Those in the know call this type of furniture an "armchair". Very arcane, I know. I would guess 1920s to 50s, with an art deco vibe but revivalist decoration. French in style but not necessarily manufacture. And, seriosly, they sometimes call these tub armchairs for obvious reasons. Get rid of the hideous trim and the loose cushions, clean and wax the wood, and it might improve quite a bit, but sale value is not to be great.
