    Thanks for the welcome, Peter. I grew up being dragged to every antique store between Kentucky and Texas and beyond. My mother, who is 98 and lives with me now, was an avid collector of many things. She no longer has memory of her things so I'm in charge of "cleaning" out her house. I have questions about a few things and went on the search of how to identify them and that led me here. :) In addition to her collection, I have things of her grandmother and greatgrandmother. Most of that I won't part with though.
    I'm a retired teacher and prefer to research and search for my own answers. However, when you don't even know what something is called, it's hard to look for answers! LOL

    I appreciate having a forum like this!!

    Welcome Brenda. I think there are quite a few former teachers here! And, as you would expect, a wide range of interests and expertise.

    It's a very friendly, helpful, and with members from all over the world, an active place. It seems that no matter what time of the day it is, someone, someplace, is up and ready to offer help. Sometimes it's simply a matter of posting a photo, some kind words, or a joke, which, though it might have nothing to do with antiques, can help us all get through these stressful times.
